In RiverTown This October, the Day of the Week Decides Which Amenity Center Is Yours

RiverTown's October 2026 newsletter hands out one job per amenity center. RiverHouse at 140 Landing St. feeds the neighborhood. RiverClub at 160 RiverGlade Run hosts the big events. RiverLodge keeps the lazy river running. The fall hours set a different closed day for almost every center, so the same plan can work on a Thursday and fail on a Tuesday.

Plan October by the day of the week first. The events and food trucks below follow from that.

The weekly grid the newsletter doesn't draw

The October amenity hours are listed center by center. Put them in a grid and each day of the week shows a different gap.

Day What's closed What's on at RiverHouse
Monday RiverHouse, RiverCafé Closed
Tuesday RiverClub, RiverCafé Sal's Cucina & HippieChix, 5 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday RiverLodge pools Open; staff on site 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursday Nothing listed as closed Open; staff on site 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday Nothing listed as closed Food Truck Fridays, 5 to 8 p.m.
Saturday Nothing listed as closed Bread of Roses Sourdough on rotating weeks, 9 a.m. to noon
Sunday Nothing listed as closed Haymaker Coffee Truck, 9 to 11 a.m.

Tuesday matters most. RiverClub and RiverCafé are both closed that day, and Tuesday is also the regular evening slot for Sal's Cucina and HippieChix at RiverHouse. Sal's Cucina bills itself as a taste of Italy. The September newsletter said it takes pre-orders through Sunday evenings at 904-885-2849, and HippieChix serves rotating ice cream flavors. If you want Tuesday dinner, order by Sunday night.

Monday works the other way. RiverHouse and RiverCafé are closed, while RiverClub keeps its 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. hours and the RiverLodge Lazy River stays open from 10 a.m. to dusk. Wednesday is the one day the RiverLodge pools close.

The fall closures to know

Two summer favorites are closed for the season. The RiverHouse slide and the RiverLodge Splash Pad are both off for the year. The RiverHouse pool is still open from dawn to dusk, and the Lazy River runs from 10 a.m. to dusk every day except Wednesday. The gyms at RiverHouse and RiverLodge are listed as open 4 a.m. to midnight daily.

RiverCafé keeps the shortest week of any listed venue:

  • Wednesday and Thursday: 4 to 9 p.m.
  • Friday: 4 to 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday: noon to 9 p.m.
  • Monday and Tuesday: closed

RiverCafé is closed for the first two nights of every week. On Tuesday, the only dinner option in the newsletter is the Sal's Cucina slot at RiverHouse. That is why RiverHouse ends up as RiverTown's everyday kitchen in October.

Five Fridays, five different lineups

October 2026 has five Fridays, and every one gets its own Food Truck Friday roster at RiverHouse from 5 to 8 p.m.

  • Oct. 2: Lasa, Philipino Twisted, Okie, Pura Vida, Fresh Eats and Captain Jack
  • Oct. 9: Jazzy Krab, Uncle KC's BBQ, The Stuffed Potato and About Time Creamery
  • Oct. 16: Wok on Wheels, Planet Pizza and Icebusters
  • Oct. 23: Saffron Mediterranean Cuisine, Nalo Grindz, Chubby Burrito and Henry's Kettle Korn
  • Oct. 30: I ♥ Perogies, The Windy City, Spanish American and Mister Softee

Oct. 2 has the biggest lineup of the month, with six trucks. It is also the day Rocktober tickets go on sale, so tomorrow takes a little planning. More on that below.

Three Fridays fall the night before something larger. The Oct. 9 trucks come the evening before the Fall Festival, the Oct. 23 lineup comes the evening before Rocktober, and the Oct. 30 trucks arrive the night before Halloween.

Food trucks carry this much of the load because no permanent restaurant is coming soon. Rivertown Retail at 7904 Longleaf Pine Parkway is planned as a 25,200-square-foot center. A June 2026 report said leasing was underway with completion targeted for 2027 and named no tenants. Until it opens, the RiverHouse food truck schedule is RiverTown's restaurant row.

Where the month's events land

The weekly food mostly happens at RiverHouse. Of the four headline events, three are at RiverClub.

Saturday, Oct. 10, 4 to 7 p.m. The month opens at RiverHouse. The newsletter calls it the Fall Festival and the event page calls it the Fall Vendor Market. The St. Johns Record lists local vendors, a pumpkin patch and a kid zone on the RiverHouse Soccer Field.

Sunday, Oct. 18, 3 to 5 p.m. The Sunjammer Band plays the RiverClub Amphitheater.

Thursday, Oct. 22, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Halloween Horror Trivia Night takes over RiverClub, and the flyer promises teams, prizes and spooky questions.

Saturday, Oct. 24, 7 to 11 p.m. Rocktober on the River, the adults-only Halloween party at RiverClub and the Amphitheater.

Rocktober on the River lineup: Don't Call Me Shirley, a DJ at the Café, food trucks, three themed satellite bars, golf-cart transportation from RiverHouse to RiverClub, and costume contests.

The golf carts are the newsletter's only scheduled link between the two centers this month. For one night, guests can start at RiverHouse and ride to RiverClub.

Rocktober tickets go on sale tomorrow, in person

Ticket sales open Friday, Oct. 2, and are in person only, at two windows:

  1. RiverClub, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  2. RiverHouse, 140 Landing St., 5 to 7 p.m.

The official event page lists the cost as $15. The St. Johns Record's Sept. 8 article said ticket prices had not been announced, so confirm the price at the ticket window.

The RiverHouse ticket window is open from 5 to 7 p.m. That overlaps with the first two hours of the six-truck Food Truck Friday on the same grounds, so you can pick up dinner and a ticket in one stop.

None of the sources say whether Rocktober has guest limits or a residents-only rule. For those questions, the St. Johns Record names assistant general manager Kimberly Fatuch at (904) 679-5523 as the contact.

The weekday mornings run on the same map

Fitness classes follow the same day-by-day pattern, with RiverHouse as the base. Step Aerobics meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:15 a.m. in the RiverHouse Fitness Room. Zumba follows on Tuesdays at 9:05 a.m. and Thursdays at 9:15 a.m., for $5 per class. Yoga with Cara meets Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 9:50 a.m. in the same room, for $10 per class, payable by cash, Venmo or Zelle.

Aqua fitness moves between centers to match the closures. Monday shallow-water fitness at 11:10 a.m. is at RiverHouse. On Wednesday, when the RiverLodge pools are closed, the 11:10 a.m. shallow-water session moves to RiverClub. Friday starts at 7 a.m. with lazy-river fitness at RiverLodge. Deep-water fitness runs Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. at RiverHouse.

The newsletter also lists Soccer Shots on Mondays at the RiverTown Community Center Soccer Field, 140 Landing St., which is the RiverHouse address. Its eight-week season began Aug. 31. Minis meet from 5 to 5:30 p.m., and Classics and Premies from 5:35 to 6:25 p.m.

One date past October

For families planning ahead, St. Johns County's Family Color Run 5K is Nov. 14, 2026, at 9 a.m. at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds, 5840 SR 207 E. in Elkton. The county says it's open to all ages and fitness levels.

The rest of the month comes back to the grid. Monday belongs to RiverClub, Tuesday dinner is at RiverHouse, Wednesday swims move away from RiverLodge, and Friday night is food trucks on Landing Street.
